Intensive Driving Courses
Why Should you Take this Type of Course?
Many of you don't want to embark on the traditional route of taking one driving lesson every week for months on end.
How do intensive/short term courses work?
These courses are for those who want to pass their driving test quickly: you Must have a valid theory test pass certificate that is in date, and have the time available to have your lessons during the working day.
How is the course structured?
These courses typically last between 1 to 2 weeks dependant on your ability & availability. Firstly we take you for an assessment course of 2 x 1.5 hours @ £40.00. These assessment lessons give you enough time to become familiar with the driving school car and your instructor, and he in turn will have sufficient time to assess your abilities and answer any questions you may have.
We will then book your test for the first available date within the time frame allowed by your instructor, & of course taking into account the DSA's availability for a test within your area.
You will be given lesson plans so that you can study what will take place before each of your lessons. Each lesson is structured to fully maximise your learning, you will have aim's & objective's for each lesson, with a full debrief of what was learnt at the end of the lesson.
These courses are available to those who have a provisional licence & theory test certificate.
The Driving Test:
On the day of your driving test you will have 2 hours of your pre paid lessons remaining specifically for the test. The first hour is a warm up lesson and allows your instructor to get you to the test centre in plenty of time & to leave a little time to relax before the examiner calls your name. We do not use this hour as a lesson the reason for this is driver fatigue, the harder we work you before the test the less concentration you will have for the test.
The second hour is for your test as you will be renting your driving instructors vehicle.

If you are ready for your driving test and still have paid hours remaining, we will calculate those remaining hours and give you a refund.

Short term driving courses (4 to 10 weeks)
These courses are for people who want to pass the test quickly but at a pace that suits them. Short term courses do exactly what they say; we give you driving lessons over a period of 2 to 10 weeks, dependant on your schedule. These courses are designed where training takes place a couple of time's each week or everyday; however unlike an intensive course, lessons are limited to 1.5 hours per session. It has been proven that an hour is too little time when learning whereas 2 hours can result in driver fatigue. Short term courses are our most popular and successful form of driver training, with over 75% of our customers choosing them!

All Intensive & short term courses require a £100 deposit on booking, with full payment 2 weeks prior to the courses start date, we require this because we have to allocate an instructor for that period of time. Any lessons that are cancelled by the client will be lost & not refunded, unless you give your instructor at least 2 clear working days notice. We have a responsibility to you, other road users & the DSA examiners to ensure we only put you in for a driving test providing we are sure you can pass a driving test, if not your test date will be moved forward, and you will require enough extra lessons to get you ready (these lesson will be charged separatly to your original course price). Please note: Your instructor can only estimate the amount of lessons you will require, in the event that you are not at the required standard for the driving test you will need to take further lessons until you are, however if you are ready for your test before you have used all of your paid time, we will calculate any remaining hours and give you a refund.
Tests are booked by Elite, if you have booked your own test please deduct £62.00.
